AIHEP Conference

The Association of Independent Higher Education Providers (AIHEP) was formed in 2004. It currently comprises of six higher education institutions in London: Bellerbys College, Greenwich School of Management, Holborn College, Kensington College of Business, London School of Commerce and School of Technology and Management. These six colleges have collaborated with the following partner universities: University of East London, University of Glamorgan, University of Hull, University of Huddersfield, Liverpool John Moores University, University of Sunderland, University of Wales and University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. Students at AIHEP institutions follow programmes leading to Bachelors and Masters Degree programmes that are validated by the above UK universities and AIHEP colleges are subject to the Quality procedures of the universities.

AIHEP colleges currently enroll around 10,000 international students from over 40 countries each year and the total revenues that they generate for the UK economy is about £150 million pa. Through their efficient operation they are able to ensure strict compliance to UK government immigration regulations. The colleges are committed to providing excellent student support, thus helping to ensure that their alumni return home with very positive attitudes towards the UK.

The objectives of the AIHEP include:

AIHEP has an Advisory Board that has as its Chair, Lord Tomlinson of Walsall. AIHEP is totally committed to implementing greater feedback and tracking mechanisms for students from the initial recruitment phase to the final graduation phase.

AIHEP is organising a conference at the Dorchester Hotel on 14th December, 2005 to focus on the private-public partnerships in Higher Education. The event will be attended by leading public figures in education and the speakers will include Lord David Triesman (Minister of Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs), Barry Sheerman MP (Chair of the Education and Skills Select Committee) and a selection of senior Vice-Chancellors. We are sure that this event at the Dorchester will undoubtedly be highly thought-provoking and stimulating, and we look forward to seeing you.
