AIHEP Conference

The Association of Independent Higher Education Providers was formed in 2004 and it currently comprises nine higher education institutions in London:

• Bellerbys College
• Greenwich School of Management
• Holborn College
• Kensington College of Business
• London School of Commerce
• Regents Business School
• School of Technology and Management
• University of Buckingham
• School of Business and Law

The nine member colleges enrol over 15,000 international students from over 100 countries and the total revenues that they generate for the UK is over £200 million pa. The colleges are committed to providing high levels of student support, thus helping to ensure that their alumni return home with very positive attitudes towards the UK. Through their efficient operation they are able to ensure strict compliance to UK BA immigration regulations.

Students at AIHEP institutions follow programmes leading to Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees that are validated by a number of UK universities. All the institutions must therefore conform to the full QAA requirements for quality assurance in UK universities.

The following UK universities are involved as partners and in validating the degree programmes of AIHEP members:

• Liverpool John Moores University
• Open University
• University of Plymouth
• University of Wales
• University of Wales Institute, Cardiff

The objectives of AIHEP include:

• to provide a representative body for the UK’s high quality independent providers,
• to ensure clear standards for course delivery and student support,
• to ensure compliance with UK government regulations, particularly immigration (members have been lead participants in the UK BA tracking system),
• to grow effective public-private partnerships for mutual benefit.

AIHEP has an Advisory Board that has as its Chair, Lord Tomlinson of Walsall.
