University of Plymouth programmes

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Plymouth MBA at Greenwich School of Management can be studied during the day as a full-time programme, in the evening or at the weekend. There are MBA specialisations in Strategic Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Financial Management and Health Services Management. The programmes have starting dates throughout the year. The MBA is an excellent programme for experienced managers who wish to gain a strategic insight into the working of the organization. Course members study the various functional areas of management such as marketing, human resources and finance and accounting and are given an understanding of the effects of the changing business environment. They apply strategic thinking to analyse business problems and suggest strategies for tackling these issues.

Master of Science (MSc)

The Master of Science programmes at Greenwich School of Management offer students a cost effective way of studying for a master degree in business. Recent graduates are welcome as are those with experience in business. The MSc is offered with specialisations in Oil and Gas Management, Strategic Procurement Management and Leading and Managing in Healthcare Organisations.

Bachelors of Science (Hons)

At the undergraduate level GSM offers the University of Plymouth Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Business Management, Management and Information Technology, Human Resource Management and Business Information Systems, Travel and Tourism, Computer Science and Computer Science & Business Informatics.

GSM also offers two internationally recognised Law degree programmes for exemptions from the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and the Bar Standards Board professional examinations: the LLB (Hons) and the BSc (Hons) Law with Management. There is also a GSM Degree Foundation

The School has links with universities both in the UK and around the world and offers validated programmes of the University of Plymouth and the University of Wales.

programme that takes students who are not qualified for direct access on to the degree programme. Once again, these programmes have starting dates throughout the year. One unique feature of the BSc (Hons) programmes and the LLB (Hons) at GSM is that they can be completed in two years (24months) rather than the conventional three. This is because students at Greenwich have a shorter summer break that allows them to continue their studies through July and August.

University of Wales programmes

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Wales MBA at Greenwich School of Management can be studied either during the day as a full-time programme or in the evening on a part-time basis. There are specialisations in Strategic Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Financial Management. The programmes have starting dates throughout the year.

One of the strengths of the Greenwich School of Management MBA degree programme is the diversity of the course members’ backgrounds and experiences. The range of functional, professional and vocational skills and knowledge that participants bring to the programme allows the lecturing faculty to test the validity of theoretical concepts against a rich background of personal and organisational outlooks. The programmes encourage individuals from all walks of life, and from all organisational, business and educational backgrounds. Engineers, accountants, legal practitioners, those in the caring professions and other technically-based professionals, can all benefit from the education and experience of the Master of Business Administration (MBA). Indeed, the programme is rooted in the belief that the wider the range of programme members’ backgrounds and experiences the more it aids the learning process.

Master of Science (MSc)

The Master of Science degree at Greenwich School of Management is suitable for programme members who have a good first degree and who have little or no experience of management it is a rigorous academic programme that will prepare them for management and leadership roles in organisations and grounding in one of the following specialist areas: Business Management, Marketing Management, Management, Accounting and Finance and Human Resource Management. The programmes encourage members to apply a range of business perspectives to the identification and solution of business problems and to explore the interdisciplinary nature of business. Programme members develop a range of intellectual and personal skills relevant to careers in business management and are, thus, able to adapt to, understand and cope with the pace of change in the increasingly challenging world of business management.

Doctorates studies

Greenwich School of Management (GSM) offers two doctoral programmes: the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) and the DBA (Doctor of Business Administration). Both degrees are awarded by the University of Wales and are delivered at GSM in Greenwich, London. Doctoral applicants should have a strong theoretical and experiential background to enable them to engage with the demands of original and detailed research. Both degrees are widely recognised as being equivalent in level on both the full time and part time modes. The main contrast between the two degrees appears in the research phase of both programmes.
